Sale United knocked out

SALE United was knocked out of soccer’s Battle of Britain Cup after losing its first round match to Trafalgar Victory 2-0 on Sunday.

The home side won with goals from Logan Winter in the first half and Aiden Wyatt in the second.

Churchill United had one of its biggest wins over Traralgon Olympians.

The Rams, with import Liam Johnson at the front scoring five goals, were too good, winning 8-0. Sam Di Ciero, with two goals, and Jeremy Sanchez, one, helped the rout.

MOE United’s 14-0 win over Churchill was the highest score in the women’s Browne-Huizer Cup, and also the biggest winning margin.

Maddison Brown was in superb form, with her personal best of seven goals.

Falcons advanced to the next round after Olympians forfeited its match.

Sale United had a bye in the first round.
