ONLY five clubs will contest the 2020 East Gippsland Hockey Association season following the withdrawal of Orbost.
The move means the team scheduled to play Orbost will now have the bye.
Bairnsdale had already withdrawn from the season.
The season will begin tomorrow with junior grades. The start of the open and women’s competitions has been delayed because of COVID-19 regulations regarding sport of 19 years and over.
Maffra will play Wellington at the Gippsland Regional Sports Complex, Sale, on Saturday, with Nagle heading to Swan Reach. Sale will have the bye.
The under 11s will begin 9am, under 13s 9.50am, under 15s 11am and under 18s 12.20pm.
Sale will begin its campaign the following weekend, hosting Maffra at GRSC as part of a double header which will see Wellington take on Nagle.

Round two, August 1: Wellington v Nagle*, Sale v Maffra*, Swan Reach bye.
Round three, August 8: Wellington v Swan Reach, Nagle v Sale, Maffra bye.
Round four, August 15: Swan Reach v Sale, Maffra v Nagle, Wellington bye.
Round five, August 22: Sale v Wellington, Swan Reach v Maffra, Nagle bye.
Round six, August 23: Nagle v Wellington, Maffra v Sale, Swan Reach bye.
Round seven, August 29: Wellington v Maffra, Nagle v Swan Reach, Sale bye.
Round eight, September 5: Swan Reach v Wellington, Sale v Nagle, Maffra bye.
Round nine, September 12: Sale v Swan Reach, Nagle v Maffra, Wellington.
Round 10, September 10: Maffra v Swan Reach*, Wellington v Sale*, Nagle bye.
