Locals among winners

LOCALLY-TRAINED greyhounds were among the winners during Wednesday’s meeting in Sale.
The local success began in the opening 440 metre maiden, which was won by Freeman’s Hope, trained by Leigh Jennings at Maffra, following a strong start.
Oscar Rose, trained by Sharon-Lee Chignell at Rosedale, won the race three 440m maiden by half a length in a tight finish from Rapid Voyage and Dundee Trigger.
The race five 440m grade five was won by Wee Gem, trained by Bruce Russel at Sale, after a challenge from Knock An Scratch.
Just Wins Boss, trained at Briagolong by Matt Clark, lived up to his name, winning race eight, a 520m grade five, with a late charge to the post.
Hot Shaynna, trained by Yvonne Andrews at Kilmany, led all the way, to win race nine, a 440m grade seven, by three lengths from Peachy Went Bams, also trained at Kilmany, by Justin Bowman. It was Hot Shaynna’s second win from four starts.
Hoppy Bob was too good in winning race 10, a 440m mixed grade six and seven, for Chris Tilley at Sale by six lengths from Bowman’s Rookie Mistake.
Bowman got a victory when Jayville Hope won race 11, a 440m grade six, by five lengths.
Victory Fire, trained by Malcolm Carr at Devon Meadows, won the race two 440m maiden, by two lengths from Ohana Pearl, trained at Cobains by Ray Floyd.
Race four, a 520m grade seven, was won by Trivet, trained by Aaron Setford at Devon Meadows, finishing half a length ahead of Honey Double One, trained by Jessica McGovern at Rosedale.
Halo Lad took out the race six 440m grade five for Kurt Burger-Trudgett at Myrniong, pinching victory at post from Sacred Path, trained by Owen McGovern at Rosedale.
Mt View Audrey won race seven, a 440m mixed grade four and five, for Paul Spiteri at Morwell.
The closest finish of the program came in the final race, a 440m grade five, with just 0.66 of a second separating the first three dogs. Nice And Easy, trained by Jason Portelli at Keilor Park, won by a neck from Chignell’s Leo Rose and California Blond, trained by Susan Northway at Heyfield.
There will be 12 races in Sale on Sunday, beginning at 4.54pm. While COVID restrictions have been eased across regional Victoria, attendance at all greyhound racing meets in the state will remain for essential people only.
AT Cranbourne on Wednesday night, dogs trained at Darriman occupied the first four placings in a 520m mixed grade six and seven.
Ridge, trained by Jenny Gill, won ahead Dr Neeki, trained by Bill McMahon, Grayden (Gill), and Dr Macie (Kim McMahon).
Dr Knuckles and Inuka won 311m races for Bill McMahon.
BRIAGOLONG trainer Matt Clark left Warragul on Tuesday night with two 460m grade five winners.
Following victory in Sale earlier this month, Fantastic Raven won on Tuesday night by by three lengths. Springview Magic was also victorious by three lengths.
In another 460m grade five, Hustle Hard, trained by Brian Alford at Yarram, shot away in the home straight to win by seven lengths.
Second Pick finished first in a 400m grade five for Rodney Ashworth at Cowwarr.
