History was made last Tuesday with the region’s inaugural Twenty20 competition for women commencing.
The Saputo Women’s Mid-Week T20 saw six teams from the Sale-Maffra Cricket Association play each other across three venues.
The first round of matches took place at Bundalaguah, where Collegians beat the Bulls by seven wickets; Stephenson Park, where Stratford beat Longford by 10 wickets; and Rosedale, where Sale beat Rosedale-Kilmany by 12 runs.
All games start at 5.30pm on Tuesdays, weather permitting.
