Those after an omen for the East Gippsland football senior Grand Final might be in luck.

And for Boisdale-Briagolong supporters, they won’t have to look too far back either.

If the Bombers win tomorrow, it won’t be the first time Boisdale-Briagolong has gone from bottom to top.

Boisdale-Briagolong Cricket Club won a miracle Sale-Maffra Cricket Association premiership in 2018/19.

The Saints had finished last the previous two seasons, and looked a possibility of claiming a third consecutive wooden spoon when it went into the 2018/19 Christmas break languishing in second-last position on the ladder.

Consecutive wins over Sale and Stratford to start the new year resurrected some lost pride, before a three-run victory over Collegians made people take notice. Two more wins meant a final round showdown with Maffra for a place in the finals awaited the victor. Boisdale-Briagolong won through to the finals to steal fourth position on the ladder and went on to win the first grade premiership.

The Saints won every game after Christmas to win the flag.

That title was Boisdale-Briagolong’s first A Grade flag in the SMCA.

Will tomorrow be their first senior flag in East Gippy?
