LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
SINCE the relocation of the Wellington Shire offices to the corner of Desailly St and the Princes Highway, there have been virtually no on-street parking spaces between Macalister St and the highway in Desailly St for residents, members of the Men’s Shed or O’Neills Restaurant.
Perhaps the council could change the parking in Desailly St to two hours and enforce that restriction.
There is no reason why residents’ permits could not be issued along with parking permits for the users of the Men’s Shed, including those who have special needs.
There is still parking available for staff on the other side of the highway.
The walk would probably do them good.
I have a tenuous relationship with the Men’s Shed as it is on church grounds and no relationship with the restaurant apart from it being a good place to eat and opposite our dwelling.
