Try a little compassion

I am a local here in Sale with positive, passionate views including an open mind on the topic of same-sex marriage.

I need to state that I respectfully acknowledge an individual’s right to their own opinion, but when expressing these one-sided narratives within a newspaper about non-supportive views on same sex marriage, conclusive of religious-based beliefs which we all have a right not to follow if we choose, keep in mind the facts, how these degrading opinions affects people and the sensitive nature of the topic.

We live somewhat freely, although the government and political engineers attempt to make the world we live in a better place, but sometimes not having the best interests of the people at heart.

When I attempt to think about it in a spiritual sense, there is no yin without a yang.

Believers of faith are supposedly adhering to a non-judgemental aspect regarding those around them that don’t share these views.

Those with a religious approach trying to make the rest of civilization feel bad for their choices are the most judgemental, narcissistic human beings I’ve ever come across to say the least, and you’d think we’d show a little more compassion.

Why can’t you allow your religion to be your religion and leave it at that?

If a person is willing to be encouraged down that pathway then so be it, and if it helps their life even better.

However, if you want a fair society, let the political system be that speaker for what is right and wrong, allowing the voice of our democratic people to have their say without ridicule or fear of having an opinion.

Change is a naturally occurring process of time.

As years become decades, same sex marriage is a no- brainer in my opinion.

A gay couple can raise a child, perhaps better than some parents out there, especially when you include domestic violence and all sorts of other atrocities that might be witnessed by children daily.

We should all have the right to be free, and at the end of the day it’s a piece of paper that can be appropriately amended for equality’s sake.

A maker would never call it a sin to fall in love with somebody.

That is a vicious attack on love and many should wake up to themselves.
