TINAMBA motocross champion Cody Dyce is now ranked eighth best junior rider in the world.
Dyce competed at the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship, at Orlyonok, Russia, in the 125cc class on August 14.
Overcoming crashes and technical difficulties, Dyce still managed to impress, coming tenth in race one and seventh in race two.
Fellow Australians Riley Dukes and Caleb Grothues, both on KTMs, came fourth and fifth respectively overall.
Mother Sally said Cody did well considering the difficult conditions, which he had never seen before.
As well as 30 degree heat and high humidity, Dyce and his team encountered a rocky and rough track with extreme inclines.
After qualifying 14th, he managed to get to the front of the pack in race one, but was stymied by a crash early in the race, and dropped back to 17th, before climbing back to tenth. In race two, he held on from starting in fourth to finish seventh.
Dyce is back racing in Australia already, and is leading the Rising Stars championships.
