Objection to proposed rate rise

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

WELLINGTON Shire Council yet again wants to work outside its means and increase taxation for all its residents.

When are they going to realise all people have to work within their means, and they cannot continue to tax their residents more every year?

The state government is also at fault allowing this to occur.

Projects that are essential are a priority, instead of ideology.

Services are the most important duty of the council, yet we continually see a waste of projects on streetscaping.

Ratepayers are rarely asked if they need projects such as the Port of Sale works, the library, council office upgrades and the like.

I urge ratepayers to register their objections to new rate rises that do not benefit the community.

Council must work within its needs it is what we do as families.
