LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
MR Adrian Aitken’s professional position and care to inform is a valuable asset to our future hospital, and health care system.
He is worried about the permanence, and working conditions of staff.
We have to think beyond a few good experiences.
Are people missing the point? This problem runs far deeper.
A close friend, who recently had major surgery in the past six months, was in need of a follow up the phone rang out and was without reasonable contact.
He now must travel and has no easy access to Medicare rebate due to his work hours.
Whatever happened to Medicare customer service workers?
I myself, have to seek almost all treatment in Melbourne for my health concerns, after my experiences here have been not worth repeating.
Mind you, it is a $60 train ride there and back without a Health Care card.
Health Care cards have taken over. Is everyone in Wellington Shire supposed to have one?
I know everything comes down to funding, but while seeking a day procedure I was disgruntled by my experience with a member of staff at Central Gippsland Health, who did not bother to weigh me correctly before going under general anaesthetic.
The only food I was offered afterwards was a processed meat sandwich.
With the ubiquitous information about healthy lifestyle, out of anywhere, a place of healing should have a piece of fruit available, but then again, the lines and lines outside big buck takeout joints in such a small city is astounding.
Maybe we wouldn’t need so much machinery in detecting disease, but more movement for preventing.
As a long time citizen of Sale and 34 years of age, I genuinely feel sad that the people here are neglected and negated to psychological fascism through advertising.
The lifestyle, health care system and public transport has gone so dramatically downhill, it’s a joke.
In other regional areas of Victoria this does not occur to such extreme.
It’s time to stand up for our community, and discourse is a starting point for active participation for care.
