THE rumbling of tractors was the soundtrack as the Bushy Park Tractor Pull roared into motion on Saturday.
Bushy Park Tractor Pull committee member Greg Wood said it was a great day, with in excess of 1400 people attending.
“We had a good turn out, more than last year and we’re hoping that next year will be better than ever,” Mr Wood said.
“Talking to people – competitors, spectators and stall holders there was nothing but praise and positive comments.
“The crowd was really well behaved.
“It was a family affair. We couldn’t believe the number of families there.
“It was a tractor pull and country fair combined.”
Mr Wood said each class had a strong display of competitors, which was well received by the crowd.
“The highlight was seeing everyone happy and enjoying the day,” he said.
“There were great tractors and their performance was to match.
“There were some very close finishes.
“We’re looking forward to an even bigger event next year.”
Additional to a great day out for tractor enthusiasts and families, the event raised money to support local causes.
“We pick people and organisations that are in need of help and distribute to groups accordingly,” Mr Wood said.
He said money would be distributed once door takings from the event had been determined.
