SALE’S new 24-hour police station will become operational from Wednesday following a three-year process to plan and build the new facility.
Senior Sergeant Geoff Straughen said the new facility would help police provide better customer service to the community.
“The station is much better suited to the needs of Sale police members and community,” he said.
“It will house the Sale uniform branch, Crime Investigation Unit, Highway Patrol, police prosecutors, and the Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team.”
The new building features public consultation and interview rooms; mess room and other staff amenities including change rooms and a gymnasium; conference and training room facilities that can be adopted for emergency situations and management purposes; short term custodial holding rooms, and custodial area and administration work areas.
The new station will be fully operational from 3pm on Wednesday when all public enquires will be directed to the new address at 1-11 Reeve St.
The community can make enquiries by phoning 5142 2200. In an emergency, phone police immediately on 000.
