Born and bred in Valencia Creek, Georgia Rose is a national finalist in the Miss Galaxy Australia Pageant 2022.

Part of Ms Rose’s duties as a finalist is to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation so that wishes of Australian children and young people with life-threatening medical conditions can have their lives enriched.

Make-A-Wish was established in 1985 and has since granted more than 7000 wishes to children in Australia. Her main aim in this pageant is to win the biggest fundraiser title in her section.

Ms Rose will be visiting her home town of Valencia Creek for a week at the end of March/early April before she heads off on a road trip with her mother where the pageant winners are announced at the Miss Galaxy Australia Pageant 2022 Gala Event, which takes place on April 9 at Luna Park in Sydney.

During this time she will be hosting two events.

The first is a Gatsby Fundraiser Evening at Kilmany Homestead on Thursday, March 31 from 6pm to 9pm.

The night will be filled with lots of fun and some live music from the Gatsby Era and a few surprises.

You will also have the chance to chat with Ms Rose and catch up with old friends, make some new ones, and even learn how to do the Charleston.

A photo opportunity with a 1926 Essex vintage car from the Gatsby Era will also be available in the Kilmany Park grounds from 5pm-6pm.

Tickets will be raffled on the night for a lucky person to win one night’s stay for two people (including gourmet breakfast) in one of Kilmany Park Estate’s amazing rooms. Tickets to this Gatsby night are limited to 100 and are available at

The second event is an Afternoon High Tea on Saturday, April 2 from 2pm to 4pm at the Valencia Soldier’s Memorial Hall, the place where Ms Rose has on many occasion played, and still plays, her fiddle with dad Garry Rose, the Briagolong Bush Band and numerous international musicians and performers.

Ms Rose said was excited to participate in these charity events.

“I hope people will enjoy themselves at these events, because it’s great to support children and young adults suffering from critical illness,” Ms Rose said.

“I’ve come across children who have had their wishes granted, which is amazing, and I met a couple whose daughter had a wish granted decades ago and ended up surviving her illness, so they were really keen to support the foundation.”

If you can’t make either event and would like to support Ms Rose in this fundraising quest, you have the opportunity to do so by visiting her Make-A-Wish fundraising page at
