Avon Anglican Family Fun Fair – this Saturday 2 April

The Anglican Parish of Avon will host another great Family Fun Fair on Saturday 2 April, commencing 10am (through to 2pm) at 26 McFarlane St, Stratford.

The Parish gratefully acknowledges the sponsorship of Wellington Shire Council and Marathon Electrical which support the Parish’s objective to provide 4 hours of fun and entertainment for families without the burden of cost. Entry and all kid’s activities will be free of charge.

The Fair will commence with the official opening by Wellington Shire Mayor, Cr. Ian Bye at 10am.

The many highlights will include the popular pony rides, jumping castles, face painting, fairy floss, clown, Easter treats, animal petting, lucky dips, children’s book stand and Anglicare activities, free handcrafted wooden toys by Stratford Men’s Shed, participation in mainly music song and dance, a range of stalls, a low-cost BBQ sausage sizzle, sandwiches, and tea/coffee.

The novel Pet Show will feature again this year with registrations being accepted from 10.15am on the day. Popular judge, Veterinarian Dr Steve Postlethwaite, will be in attendance to decide the Winners, Runners-up and ‘Special Mentions’ of the following categories: Best Small Pet (cats, birds etc.), Best Small Dog, Best Large Dog, Best Dressed/Costumed Pet, the Pet that Looks Most Like its Owner, the Pet with the Waggiest Tail, and Best Tricks Performed by a Pet. The show will conclude with a Grand Parade.

Current QR and vaccine requirements will be observed.
