WELLINGTON Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a woman over the alleged use of counterfeit notes.
The 21-year-old Newborough woman was charged on Monday evening with offences of obtaining property by deception, possession and the use of counterfeit currency.
The offences related to Pakenham, Drouin, Warragul, Yaragon, Moe, Morwell, Traralgon and Rosedale.
The woman has been bailed to appear at the Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on November 6.
This is the second arrest made by Wellington CIU detectives in the past two weeks regarding the use of counterfeit currency.
Police are asking traders to be mindful that these notes are in circulation and to pay attention when dealing with large denominations.
