Wellington Shire Council has awarded a contract to fit out the selling shed at the refurbished Sale Livestock Exchange.
The fitting out of the 5625 square metre shed is one of five contracts for the $3.3 million project. Council has spread the funding over three years.
The construction program has been scheduled to be completed over 12 to 18 months.
Meanwhile, council has given authority to chief executive David Morcom to enter into a contract to redevelop buildings at Sale Oval to accommodate the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
The RDFS mobile patient transport operations will be relocating from Maffra to part of the building formally used by the Sale Community Sports Club.
RFDS is looking to begin operations from the site in May or June next year.
The service will enter into a commercial lease with council for the use of the site.
For the project to be completed in a timely manner, and with councillors not meeting until February, the chief executive have been given authority to enter into the contract.
The project is being funded by council ($180,000) and the state government ($360,000).
