A 31-YEAR-old Wurruk man is facing a swag of charges following a random police intercept where he allegedly blew more than three times the legal alcohol limit.
Officers observed a four-wheel-drive vehicle driving east along Main St, Bairnsdale, on Thursday night without headlights with its left indicator on.
Police pulled over the vehicle, allegedly receiving what they described as “a prickly welcome” from two male occupants.
Police said both men were assisted out of the vehicle and the driver undertook a preliminary breath test, alleging a positive result of 0.187 per cent.
Police allege the driver refused to be taken back to the police station for an evidentiary breath test and became aggressive, making threats towards the officers and refusing to give his details.
Both men were arrested and taken back to the police station.
The Wurruk man has been charged with 12 offences including refusing an evidentiary breath test, being drunk, resisting arrest and a number of traffic offences.
