POLICE called off a pursuit which began in Heyfield early Wednesday morning because conditions became too dangerous to continue.
Highway patrol officers attempted to pull over a car in Davis St for a routine inspection, but the car sped off when officers turned on their lights.
The car’s speed was recorded at 120 kilometres per hour in an 80kmh zone.
The pursuit lasted five minutes, ending near Lake Glenmaggie where the officers decided it was too dangerous to continue.
The car, a blue Ford Falcon, had stolen number plates, registration FHH 922.
People with information about the car have been asked to phone Sale police on 5142 2200.
