Speedy loss of licence

A 34-YEAR-old Melbourne man will lose his licence for a month after he was allegedly caught driving 136kmh in a 100kmh zone.

Stratford police intercepted the man on the Princes Highway at Munro about 5.30pm on Wednesday.

The man had an outstanding warrant for an unrelated matter and was taken back to the police station.

He was bailed to appear at a Dandenong court at a later date.

He received an infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit and will lose his licence.

STRATFORD police are investigating after eight chainsaws were allegedly stolen from a shed on a residential property overnight on Wednesday.

Police said an unknown number of offenders forced entry to the shed in Tyers St and stole the chainsaws, some of which were unique.
