A 19-YEAR-OLD Eagle Point man had his car impounded for 30 days and faces a 12 month loss of licence after he was allegedly caught driving at high speed at Stratford on Friday night.
The probationary driver was intercepted by Stratford police when he was detected travelling at an alleged speed of 158kmh on the Stratford-Bengworden Rd.
He will be charged on summons with driving at a dangerous speed and exceeding the speed limit.
Police are urging motorists to consider the consequences of driving at excessive speeds. Not only do drivers face having their cars impounded and licences cancelled, there is also the risk of causing death or serious injury.
