SOUTH Australian police have arrested a man in relation to an alleged hit and run in Sale last month which left two men in hospital with head injuries.
Wellington Crime Investigation Unit detectives had issued a warrant for the 38-year-old man’s arrest last week following an incident on March 23 where two cyclists were allegedly struck by a car that failed to stop.
John Allen Reid was found at a motel in Ceduna, South Australia on Friday night and arrested.
He has been charged with negligently causing serious injury, conduct endangering life and other traffic related offences.
Reid remains in custody and in the coming days detectives from Wellington Crime Investigation Unit will travel to SA and seek his extradition.
Of the two injured cyclists, the 30-year-old Stratford man remains in hospital, while the 33-year-old Sale man has been released.
