Police: take care on bus routes

HEYFIELD police are urging drivers to be extra vigilant when driving along school bus routes in the local area.

Police said motorists should reduce their speed when passing bus stops and schools to reduce the risk of collisions with pedestrians.

Police said there had been a number of near collisions, because of children not looking when being dropped off at bus stops or when exiting buses.

Heyfield police said children were often tired at the end of the day and didn’t always look before stepping onto roads.
