Maffra Gymnastics will host the Gippsland championships for the Level 0 and 1 boys and Levels 1, 2 and 3 girls next weekend, Saturday, July 23 and Sunday July 24.
With a large number of entries this year, the competition will be run over two days.
Gymnasts from the Gippsland clubs including Warragul, Morwell, Energetics Traralgon, Leongatha, East Gippsland, and Maffra will compete for the title of Gippsland Champion Team in their respective levels.
There will also be a large number of competitors in the recreational divisions, which is a relatively new addition to the Championships.
This is an opportunity for gymnasts to have the experience of competition, who train in a usually non-competitive recreational class of limited training hours.
The girls were selected to be part of a team, after the results were collated from level testing which was held towards the end of last term.
Spectators are welcome to come along and see Gippsland’s young up and coming gymnasts in action.
Level 0 and 1 Boys and Level 1 Girls will compete from 1pm on Saturday, while the Level 2 girls will compete over two sessions on the Sunday, from 8am and 11am.
The Level 3 girls will commence at 2.45pm.
