MAFFRA police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Maffra on Saturday.
A 49-year-old Wy Yung woman stepped onto the road when she was struck by a vehicle travelling west on Johnson St, near the ANZ bank.
It is believed she lost concentration and did not look before crossing, and the vehicle was unable to stop in time.
Two GPs and an off duty CFA member were first on the scene. The woman suffered head injuries and was placed in an induced coma by paramedics before being airlifted to the Melbourne’s Alfred Hospital in a serious condition.
