SALE’S United service station is a victim of a reported ‘crime spree’ on Thursday morning.
The petrol station, situated on the corner of Raglan St and York St, was rammed at 1.52am, by an allegedly stolen ute.
The occupants took about three minutes to steal the store’s ATM, before loading it up, and driving away.
According to a United employee, the ATM, now emptied, had been located by police somewhere between Sale and Melbourne.
The vehicle used in the burglary was found burnt on the outskirts of Sale.
It is believed the burglary may be related to a series of car thefts and thefts from panel beaters premises in Moe and Traralgon that occurred overnight on Wednesday and Thursday morning.
Sale, Morwell and Traralgon police declined to comment while investigations into those crimes continued.
Anyone with information is encouraged to phone Sale police station on 5142 2200 or anonymously on Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
