A LONGFORD house burnt to the ground at the weekend, with firefighters’ attempts to save the building proving fruitless.
Longford, Sale and Golden Beach CFA units responded to a call at 3.25am on Sunday morning, but the unoccupied house on the South Gippsland Highway was already engulfed by fire.
Longford CFA suspect the cause of the fire was an electrical fault, but investigations are underway.
