Licence suspended after crash

A 35-YEAR-old Briagolong man had his licence immediately suspended following a single vehicle collision in Stratford about 8.35pm on Saturday.

The man was travelling along McFarlane St, when he lost control of the car and mounted the curb. The car spun sideways and travelled 85 metres along the median strip on the wrong side of the road, before colliding with a small tree.

No-one was injured but the man was taken to Maffra Police Station where he returned an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.221 per cent, more than four times the legal limit.

The man’s licence was immediately suspended and he will be charged on summons with exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol and careless driving.

Briagolong police are investigating the incident, and are thankful no pedestrians were present.
