SAMPLING the best produce from across the region, hundreds of people from Gippsland and beyond attended this year’s Heyfield Food and Wine Festival.
Lines stretched around the information centre at the wetlands on a perfect spring day, with people eager to try local wines and ciders.
Organiser Lee Clarke, from the Heyfield Traders and Tourism Association, said she was impressed by how many people from outside the district attended.
“It’s a brilliant idea,” she beamed.
“We’re a small town, so any opportunity to attract people to Heyfield is what we want.”
Ms Clarke recommended the salt and pepper squid, declaring it “magnificent”.
