Angle parking for car pooler

THIS driver had a rude awakening on Wednesday morning, when he found himself in a bit of a predicament.

The accident happened just before 7am in Macarthur St, Sale, where water mains works are taking place near Bunnings.

The 19-year-old male driver from Sale mistook the accelerator for the brake, running his Nissan Pulsar off the road and into a pit containing a water main.

He was uninjured, but shaken.

According to a witness, the impact caused the water main to burst, filling the hole and the car with water.

The driver was able to escape well before the water filled his vehicle

Bystanders assisted the driver at the scene.

The road was not closed, but warning signs were erected by police.
