Hole-in-one provides ‘big thrill’

NEWRY Golf Club member Rhonda Whitelaw ticked one of the biggest items off any golfers bucket list, when she scored a hole-in-one on Monday.

The feat occurred on the second hole at Maffra Golf Club, which is a par three and requires players to clear a small creek to get onto the green.

Whitelaw opted to use an eight iron to tee off and watched on as the ball was sent home to its natural environment in the hole.
