MAFFRA police are investigating a series of thefts from motor vehicles and burglaries in Maffra overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday.
All offences occurred near each other in the vicinity of Boisdale and Merry Sts, Maffra, where offenders gained entry to eight vehicles parked at residential addresses, and stole items.
Police believe the same offenders also gained access to two sheds in the area and stole some small items.
The incidents are being investigated, and police are advising car owners to stay vigilant and remember to lock cars and sheds.
It is believed all vehicles were unlocked at the time.
Sergeant Anthony Dessent said it was “particularly frustrating” as the offences were opportunistic and could be avoided if vehicles are locked at night, even if parked in driveways on private property.
“These offenders and offences are opportunistic and brazen, with offenders spending a short amount of time at each property and vehicle,” he said.
“We are urging people to lock their vehicles and secure sheds at night.”
People with information regarding the incidents should phone Maffra police on 5147 1026.
