Investigation continues into Maffra firearms incident

WELLINGTON Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance as part of their ongoing investigation into a firearms incident in Maffra earlier this year.

Investigators believe two men on a motorcycle stopped on McAdam St and fired a single shot towards a property on Blyth St just before 7.30am on March 14.

The bullet struck a car parked in the carport of the residence.

Although the car was unoccupied, six people were home at the time, including a 31-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, and four children aged 18, 13, nine and one.

It is believed the two men then fled on the bike along McAdam St at a fast rate of speed.

Investigators have released CCTV of a motorcycle and two men who they believe can assist with their enquiries.
