A 17-YEAR-old from Maffra has been issued with breaching COVID-19 directives, after he allegedly crashed a car into a Maffra fence at the weekend and fled the scene on foot.
About 10pm on Saturday night, a blue Ford sedan was travelling along Glassford St and lost control on the wet road, near the intersection of Carpenter St.
The vehicle crashed into a fence, causing substantial damage.
A number of the vehicle’s occupants left the scene, including the driver.
Police say it appeared no-one was injured.
The underage driver was interviewed for numerous traffic offences, and issued with a breach of COVID-19 conditions penalty notice.
Police are still investigating, including whether drink-driving was a factor in the collision.
