A GIPPSLAND man is thinking about his future investments after learning he is the lucky winner of last week’s $800,000 Lotto win.
The man held one of the five division one winning entries nationally, in the lottery drawn on last Wednesday, April 7.
The astonished man said he has plans to invest his prize.
Speaking with a The Lott official, the man said he was still in shock from the discovery.
“I only just found out on Sunday,” he said.
“I was out fishing and that’s when I checked my ticket.
“I couldn’t believe it – it took the whole day for the news to sink in.
“It’s insane.
“Eight hundred thousand dollars – that’s just crazy.
“It’s a life-changing win for me. People win millions, but for me, this is huge.
“I just can’t believe this is happening to me.
“I went to my parents that night to celebrate and we had a few drinks.
“I think I need a few more now it’s been confirmed.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his loot, the exhilarated winner said he was thinking of the future.
“The plan is to pay off the mortgage,” he said.
“I wouldn’t mind making a few investments as well.
“I am very much thinking of the long term.
“I don’t want to waste it; I want to grow it – I wouldn’t mind going on a bit of holiday as well.”
The winning entry was sold at Sale Centre Lotto, in Gippsland Centre.
Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries – two each from Victoria and Western Australia and one from New South Wales.
