Family of four escapes Denison house fire

A FAMILY of four, including two young children, escaped a house fire unharmed after fire raced through their rural brick veneer home early Sunday morning.
The CFA was called to the fire on Marshalls Rd, Denison, just after 5am.
Firefighters from Heyfield, Maffra, Winnindoo, Rosedale, Sale, Newry and Maffra were among those who attended, with numerous appliances, tankers and pumpers used to battle the blaze.
CFA District 10 Commander Gary Bryant said firefighters managed to save two cars parked near the house, but the home itself was extensively damaged and may well end up being demolished.
He said the cause of the blaze was listed as accidental.
