FEDERATION University has reversed its decision to scrap Arts degrees after backlash from staff and students.
The visual arts course at the Churchill campus in Gippsland, however, will not continue.
The university currently runs the Bachelor of Arts (BA) programs at several campuses including Berwick, Gippsland, and Ballarat.
Acting Vice-Chancellor Liam Sloan said the BA program would continue in 2023.
“We will review the BA to ensure it is fit for purpose to be delivered as part of our Australian first co-operative education model, for regional students wanting a head start on a successful career, and for regional employers wanting graduates primed for the workplace,” Mr Sloan said.
The Bachelor of Arts program is expected to be continued in the same format as in previous years, but the review will see input from staff, students and experts to improve the course.
Staff and students were originally told of the plan to scrap BAs in an email sent on Wednesday, August 3.
