THE Sale Greyhound Club hosted a successful night celebrating Australia Day last Saturday, with former Collingwood great Dane Swan on hand to entertain the thousands who attended.
Sale Greyhound Club manager Peter Johnston thanked all who attended, saying it was terrific to see so many people get into the Australia Day spirit.
“It was fantastic to see so many people dressed up to celebrate Australia Day. It was also great to see families enjoy the free sausage sizzle as they came out in their thousands to meet Dane Swan,” he said.
Following on from the Collingwood theme, the Sale Greyhound Club will host Magpie players for their community camp in Sale on Monday, February 11.
The event was originally scheduled to be the Traralgon Cup meeting, but was transferred to Sale after the temporary closure of the Traralgon’s track because of drainage issues.
