Start of play delayed

WITH the cricket season on the horizon and local players getting restless at the thought of having a field, hit or bowl in the sun, there is still no clear path forward to when on-field activities can resume.

Unfortunately the question of ‘when will we play?’ will remain unanswered for a few weeks, although Monday, November 23 is looming as D-Day, as that could be the day regional Victoria will move onto the “last step” in the state government’s road map.

For that to happen, there must be no new cases for 14 days across Victoria, in line with preceding landmarks achieved before that, starting with a below-five average of daily cases in a 14-day period as well as zero cases in regional Victoria with an unknown source in the same time frame.
