Warragul win for Kingfisher Rose

KINGFISHER Rose won the 400m free for all at Warragul on Tuesday night for Rosedale greyhound trainer Jeff Chignell.

Kingfisher Rose was third last approaching the first turn, but maintained his line along the rail, surging home to win by two lengths.

Dr Madison, trained by Bill McMahon at Darriman, won a heat of the 400m restricted win series. Portelli Punk, trained by Ray Floyd at Cobains, also advanced to this Tuesday’s final after finishing third in the same heat.

Soda Prince won the second heat for Lyn Smith at Nambrok, claiming a sixth victory from 15 starts. Jet Lee Rose, trained by Jeff Chignell at Rosedale, and McMahon’s Zachary finished second and third respectively to earn spots in the final.

West Of Westeros, trained by Dawn Johnston at Boisdale, qualified for the final after finishing second in the third heat.

Following back-to-back second placings, Willem Powerfish won a 460m grade five for Robert Cook at Munro, finishing two lengths ahead of Variation, trained by Matt Clark at Briagolong.

Ignite The Stars, trained by Leanne Burke at Alberton West, won a 400m grade five. The dog has won three of her past five races.

Earlier in the day, Babel, trained by Chris Tilley at Sale, on Monday won a 350m grade five at Healesville. Babel was returning to the track where she won four days prior following back-to-back third placings.

Finishing five lengths behind in second place was Tiny Shiny, trained by Donald Rhodes at Sale.

AT Cranbourne on Wednesday night, Dr Collette, Bill McMahon, Darriman, won a heat of the 331m mixed grade six and seven series.

Akina Archer, trained by Samantha McKay at Denison, and Voodoo Spirit, trained by Burke, also advanced to next week’s final after finishing second and third in the same heat.

The meeting was abandoned after the second race because the lure malfunctioned.

With the remaining heats cancelled, a random draw gave a spot in the final to Jaxson Mino, trained by Ronald Winter at Dension.

ON Monday at Cranbourne, Juliette Keats won a 311m restricted race for Tyllah Cornell at Giffard West. From her previous four runs, Juliette Keats has two wins and two third placings.

SALE will host another 12-race meeting on Sunday night, beginning at 5.39pm.
