Dylan Bolton has been reappointed as the Sale-Maffra Cricket Association senior men’s representative team captain.
After the association defeated Traralgon in the Grand Final of a truncated 2021/22 season, Bolton is looking forward to captaining the team for a full Gippsland Cricket League season and, hopefully, a Melbourne Country Week campaign.
Last week, Bolton said he was “looking forward to the return of the five-round season, which gives the best two sides a stronger chance of proving their ability and a better chance of playing off in the final”.
“A couple of guys are returning to the SMCA that we will be looking at getting involved. Brad Scott is back from a year of travelling, and Jack Reitschel will be available for a full season,” he said.
“Hopefully, some of the younger guys will be able to commit without the clash of Under 21 duties. As always, we are hoping to put another really strong side out this season.”
Steve Spoljaric was a positive addition to the playing group last season.
“We will be missing Rohan Blandford, who has gone back to the Bairnsdale Cricket Association and Taylor Tatterson, who is playing in Melbourne,” Bolton said.
“Hopefully, Country Week can go ahead; it’s what all these guys look forward to as rep cricketers each year.
“It’s been missed by the boys, and hopefully, we can get back down to the city this year and give it a good crack.”
