MAFFRA youngster, Sierra Roberts is off to the School Sport Australia Nationals in Cairns this month to represent Victoria in the 12 & Under girls state hockey team.
This week, the 12-year-old was presented with her playing shirt by Hockey One pro-league players in Melbourne.
The championships begin Sunday, August 18 and concludes on Friday, August 23 at the Cairns Hockey venue.
Sierra’s state selection caps off a stellar year for the aspiring Hockeyroo, starting in February with an invitation to the inaugural Gippsland Sports Academy hockey program. She then went on to captain both the East Gippsland under 14 rep team for the Junior Country Championships in May; and the U14 Gippsland Bulls rep team at the state championships held in the July school holidays.
Putting her success down to preseason training, Sierra is making the most of the opportunity to start her high performance journey.
She has her sights set on wearing the green and gold in Brisbane in 2032.
