Calling on Gippsland to join clean revolution

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

IF our politicians are our voice in parliament, then Gippslanders must love sulphur dioxide, mercury, greenhouse gasses, oil spills and global warming.

Our local National Party politicians seem to have a sensational thirst to dig up and burn as much of our oil, coal and gas resources while they’re in power.

Wouldn’t it be great if, instead, Gippsland became a leader in what is now being termed ‘the third industrial revolution’ which is the ‘free’ or ‘clean energy revolution’.

A recent press release by the clean energy council shows how the Coalition’s support for the polluting energy sector is threatening investment and Australia’s safe jobs within the clean energy sector.

Gippsland MHR Darren Chester recently voted for the repeal of the carbon tax, effectively supporting the right for large international corporations to pollute free of charge in Gippsland.

Is that what you voted for?

If you want Gippsland to be a part of the clean energy revolution, please let Mr Chester know as soon as possible.
