LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
As a frequent visitor to Sale from Hobart I have been enjoying my morning walks around Lake Gyatt and Guthridge.
It is always delightful to watch the bird life and greet people out walking, many with their dogs.
On Sunday November 23 morning I was dismayed to see two women with a (rather lovely) golden retriever who let the dog off once they arrived at Lake Gyatt.
The dog continually bounded from the path into the water, startling the birds and setting them a-flight.
I would have liked to ask; what would happen to the birds if every person let their dog off the leash at out-of-the-way Lake Gyatt?
And what would happen if every person also didn’t carry waste bags or pick up after their dog?
Or maybe they just don’t care.
