LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
A VOTE for same-sex marriage is a vote to deny Aussie children the right to their biological mother or father.
Marriage is not simply a recognition of mutual love; if it were, the state would have no interest in it.
Governments have marriage laws because they have a responsibility for the wellbeing of children.
A child of a same-sex marriage will always be deprived of either his or her natural mother or father.
He or she will be raised by one person who has no blood relationship with him or her.
He or she will always be deprived of either a mother or a father role model.
Same-sex marriage ignores a child’s best interests.
It is an unfortunate tragedy when a child loses their mother or father to accident or illness.
It is an unacceptable travesty when the state takes a child’s father or mother away from him or her.
Haven’t we learnt from the last stolen generation?
