Bus transport is needed at new library

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

IN Sale for the day, I paid the antiquated and obviously inadequate library a visit.

I was delighted, as all ratepayers should be, to discover that it was to be relocated as part of the port of Sale redevelopment project.

While at the library I came across a mobility map and evidence of a strong mobility program well done to the Shire of Wellington.

Well, not so well done.

The new precinct has no public transport.

There is no bus stop and it appears that public Transport Victoria is resisting changes to the bus route.

If their new precinct, the buildings and the services are to reach their potential, they must be accessible to all.

A bus stop is essential if you use public transport.

If you know someone that uses public transport or if one day in the (distant) future you may use public transport, send your support for the bus stop to council and Public Transport Victoria feedback and complaints on 1800 800 007 or go to www.ptv.vic.gov.au/customer service.

I look forward to visiting your new library and bus stop.
