Music festival again a great success

ON behalf of the volunteer organising committee for the Sale Music Festival — Picnic On the Green, I would sincerely like to thank the wonderful supporters of this sixth Sale Music Festival, held in the most picturesque Sale Botanic Gardens on the Sunday of the Labour Day weekend.

An estimated crowd of between 3400 locals and visitors thoroughly enjoyed their own picnic food, or food provided by local service clubs including Sale Central Rotary Club, Sale Scouts and the Sale Starlight CWA, while soaking up an eight hour program of wonderful local music.

All money raised by these local service groups stays with these groups to assist with their own particular activities, again benefitting our community.

Well done to all the parents and helpers who assisted with children’s creative activities during the afternoon — certainly a special feature of the day.

This free family event could not happen without the support of local businesses and individuals.

What a thrill it was to see so many families and family groups attend this free community event in the delightful botanic gardens.

It is an event where people can relax, families can spend time together, children can safely play all day, and high quality local musical talent can be showcased.

A huge thanks to the committee, which has spent many hours committing members’ time and skills to making sure the day is a success.

On behalf of this committee, thanks to all involved in either helping with the organisation of the sixth Sale Music Festival, or for simply attending and supporting this community event.

We all hope it will continue at the same time every year, for many years to come.
