LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
REFUGEES are again being unfairly targeted by the government through the Department of Home Affairs, which between June and August will cut off income support for people on bridging visas and the right to work.
If 7500 people don’t find a job within 10 days, they will be cut off all support and rely on charities and communities to fill the gap.
I thought Australia a place of a fair go and somewhere people can seek refuge while their claims are assessed and they get on their feet — psychologically, socially and economically.
To make sure it is, please contact your local members, the Minister for Home Affairs Peter Dutton, and the Prime Minister to express your concern.
After all, isn’t it ‘do unto others as you would have them do to you’?
