Pantomime Puss at the Wedge

CHILDREN’S pantomime Puss In Boots will be staged from today at Wellington Entertainment Centre.

With a talented cast of young locals, Puss In Boots is a fun-filled musical adventure for the whole family.

Director Deidre Marshall said  children had learnt their scripts and music during the Christmas and New Year break.

“We have had eight rehearsals, so the children have really put the show together over eight days,” she said.

“Our lighting designer is also a local, Mirranda Francis, who has been studying at university in Melbourne but has come back to do the show.”

In Puss In Boots, Henry (one of two roles played by Jasmine Brennan) is left a pair of boots and the farm cat, Puss, in his dad’s will.

Puss (played by Samantha Scicluna) realises Henry is not terribly bright, and that things will not turn out well for them with Henry in charge.

Puss reveals he can talk and devises a clever plan to ensure that he and Henry spend the rest of their lives in “purr-fect” luxury.

Tickets cost $17 adult, $15 senior, $13 concession and members, $9 children or group bookings, and are available at Wellington Entertainment Centre.

Performance times:

Friday: 11am; Saturday: 6.30pm; Tuesday: 11am; Wednesday: 2pm; Thursday: 11am and 6.30pm; next Friday: 2pm.
