LOCAL community organisations showcased their activities at a community services expo in Sale pedestrian mall on Saturday.
The expo, organised by Wellington Shire Council, highlighted the valuable work of volunteers.
A wide range of organisations were at the expo including Sale Lions Club, police, Scouts, the CWA, Air Force and Army cadets and ambulance paramedics.
Many organisations received enquiries from people interested in joining.
Sale Ambulance Auxiliary president Yvonne Clavarino said the day had been highly successful, with several enquiries from people interested in joining the auxiliary.
“A number of people also filled out forms signing up for ambulance subscriptions, which is really important for everyone,” she said.
Mrs Clavarino said paramedics undertook CPR demonstrations, blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks and had information available.
A Sale man was lucky to be close to medical help when he needed the assistance of paramedics after feeling unwell.
He was assisted by several paramedics and taken by ambulance to Central Gippsland Health Service.
