A 42-YEAR-old Cranbourne motorcyclist intercepted by police in Common Yard Rd, Newry, on Sunday afternoon recorded an alcohol reading of 0.161 more than three times the legal limit.

The man will be charged on summons for exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol, riding while unlicensed and riding an unregistered motorcycle.

A 17-year-old Cranbourne youth will receive penalty notices for unlicensed riding and riding an unregistered motorcycle.

Police would like to remind motorcyclists that they must not exceed the legal limit for alcohol, regardless of where they were riding, and that all motorcyclists riding on roads and tracks must be appropriately licensed and on registered motorcycles.

Because of the number of recent off-road injury collisions involving recreational motorcyclists, there will be an increase in patrols and enforcement in coming months.

POLICE are investigating the theft of a caravan from an address in Hollands Landing between Sunday and Monday.

The caravan is described as a ‘Royal Flair’ tandem axle caravan, white in colour with a green decal on the sides.

People with information are urged to phone Stratford or Maffra police.
